My Kind of Tea Party: A Raw Milk Party on Boston Common

The demand for raw milk is growing, and people are not happy about the government trying to keep it from them. On May 10, they held a “tea party” protest for raw milk on the Boston Common.

According to the video:

On May 10, 2010, over 200 raw milk drinking citizens held a raw milk “drink in” on Boston Common — to stand up against the corporate milk industry and its bully bureaucrats from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources.

The last time a cow grazed the Commons was in the 1630s. At that time, everyone drank their milk RAW.

Some of my very favorite people spoke:

Mark McAfee, owner of Organic Pastures raw dairy
Max Kane, raw milk activist
David Gumpert (they spelled his name wrong on the video,) journalist and author of the excellent new book (I recommend it,) The Raw Milk Revolution

The love of raw milk is brewing in this country and I couldn’t be happier.

This is not just about the love of raw milk. This is about the right to choose our own food, the right to produce our own food, without government intervention. I wouldn’t call myself a Libertarian, but when it comes to raw milk, I’m in. All the way.

USDA, you’ve been lobbied and paid off by corporate shills. We want our food back.
