The Health Shoppe will host a forum at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Morristown EcoCenter, 55 Bank St., on pending legislation that would allow local dairy farmers to sell raw milk to consumers.
A panel, which will discuss the health of raw milk, features Pat Schoenfeld, a dietician who has a private practice in Morristown, Joseph Heckman, a professor of soil science at Rutgers University, and Ken Hoffman, founder of Havenwood Farm in Newton.
A bill, A-743, was passed in March by the state Assembly. It was introduced by Assemblyman John DiMaio, R-Warren/Hunterdon, and Assemblywoman Connie Wagner, D-Bergen.
The Health Shoppe hosts lectures and classes that support the store’s mission of fostering health in the community, according to a news release about the event, which said the forum is free but registration is required.
